The story of Harold
Harold Elmsworth kept the gristmill on Lantern Hill running for forty-one years, and he kept something else running beside it: the family record. Every birth, marriage and homecoming in Elmhaven passed across his desk, and most of them passed into the ledgers he left behind.
His ledgers — twelve volumes, inked in a careful hand — became the seed of the Elmhaven Ancestry archive. When relatives visit the family tree today, the earliest branches they touch are the ones Harold wrote down by lamplight.
