The story of Margaret
Margaret Elmsworth taught third grade for thirty-three years and never once let a school year end without a family tree project. Her classroom walls each June were a forest of paper branches — and the habit followed her home.
In 1998 she hosted the first Elmsworth reunion in her own backyard: forty-two people, one long table, and a sheet cake that read “A Time for Family.” The reunions have grown every year since, but they still open with her words.
